Project Manager
Actively looking for a part-time Project Manager, focusing on design and development of public facing websites. The role is a combination of Site Architect (e.g., site maps), User Experience Designer (e.g, wireframes), Quality Control (e.g, website testing) and standard Project Manager roles (e.g., client communication, scheduling, team management).
You must have a broad understanding of web sites and various platforms (e.g., Windows 8, Apple OS, Apple iOS, Android). Although this is not a programming position, you must also be able to “talk tech”.
You must be self-motivated, detail oriented, with excellent communication skills and client interaction, with the ability to interface with CMO's (chief marketing officers).
This position reports to Ian Loew (owner) and his employees.
Broad duties include interfacing with clients on a daily basis via phone and/or email to gather feedback on designs and functionality. Conversations may range from gathering feedback on clients' competitors' sites to website glitches.
Advanced knowledge of 37Signals, Basecamp is essential. Each phase of website development is inputted into Basecamp. Website phases must be monitored and reported back to client and team. Conversations with client are necessary to obtain feedback and assets (text, images, logos, etc.). All assets provided by clients must be organized for site production. Employees' tasks must be inputted daily.
Primary Responsibilities
- meet face to face with Clients to discuss project goals and needs
- review Clients' existing branding and websites
- educate Clients about website options
- write business proposals for potential new clients
- create project plans and keep projects on schedule and on track
- utilize in-person and basecamp.com communication with Clients
- consult with staff on a regular basis to ensure they are fulfilling their obligations
- prevent scope creep by documenting change requests and future phases, and discussing project scope changes with clients
- conduct project status meetings with internal staff and clients to ensure they are satisfied with project progress
- create functional specification documents with input from clients (e.g., site maps, wireframes, use cases).
- use iPlotz or other standard Interactive software tools and processes
- work with design staff to ensure a high level of usability in the end product
- create content inventories for clients
- publish content for clients via various CMS systems
- train clients how to update websites through CMS systems
- test sites before site launch
Experience
- experience as a web producer, project manager, business analyst or information architect
- ability to work independently and lead a small team

Senior Developer
Duties include browsing and searching the web to gain knowledge of new technologies (code) and help with problem solving. Developing technical spec sheets outlining new functionality with team members and clients. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is necessary to perform image slicing of site designs and/or basic photo editing. Upon final approval of design, the prototype is sliced into it's necessary components to be exported into jpeg, gifs or png files. Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS are necessary to build templates that may be integrated into a content management system (i.e. - WordPress, Joomla, etc.). Advanced knowledge of Jquery and/or javascript are necessary to build moving sequences and/or animated user interactions. Advanced knowledge of MySQL is required to build relational databases. Advanced knowledge of PHP is required to interface with multiple databases and/or build site frameworks. Duties include the reviewing of clients' competitor's sites, surfing the web to gain knowledge of new technologies being implemented and problem solving. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a must to develop homepage prototypes. Upon final approval of site design is complete design is sliced into it's necessary components to be exported into jpeg, gifs or png files. An understanding of HTML and CSS are necessary to build templates that may be integrated into a content management system (i.e. - WordPress, Joomla, etc.). Basic knowledge of Jquery and/or javascript are necessary to build moving sequences and/or animated user interactions. Basic knowledge of MySQL is required to alter relational databases. Basic knowledge of PHP is a plus.
Junior Web Designer
Duties include interviewing clients about their existing website, reviewing competitors websites and developing new site outlines using Adobe Illustrator. After the initial interview with clients are complete wireframes are developed and posted to a web server for client review; basic HTML and FTP knowledge are necessary. Once client feedback is received homepage prototypes are developed; advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a must. Each design must vary in aesthetic (color, layout, photography). Designs are posted to a web server for feedback and up to three rounds of revisions may occur; great people skills and patience are key. Please submit a minimum of 3 of your best website designs for review. URL's or JPEGs are acceptable.
SEO Specialist
Duties include browsing the web and gaining knowledge of the latest Search Engine Optimization techniques and tools. Once keyword phrases are finalized by client, keywords are integrated into website tags (i.e. - title tags, meta descriptions, alt tags, etc.). To properly input tags basic HTML and MySQL knowledge is required. Once title tag implementation is complete, link building commences. Client's url and keyword phrases are posted to free site directories, blogs and web services (Google Places, Bing local, etc.).
Project Manager
Advanced knowledge of 37Signals, Basecamp is essential. Each phase of website development is inputted into Basecamp upon start of each project. Website phases must be monitored and reported back to client and team. Conversations with client are necessary to obtain feedback and assets (text, images, logos, etc.). All assets provided by clients must be organized for site production. Additional duties include copyrighting and editing of text.
Copywriter
Duties include writing, editing and proofreading website copy and marketing pieces that support each client's needs. Be able to effectively write copy in client's "brand voice". Assists in applying consistent messaging in all marketing collateral. Expected to browse and search the web to gain knowledge of new technologies and internet marketing strategies. Will also perform Lform specific tasks such as: writing news articles, blog entries, and client manuals/tutorials. Prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. Experience in writing creative copy for the web is preferred.
Paid Internship
Are you a college student looking to gain some experience in the field of web design and development in New Jersey? Then look no further. Your duties will include the development of website prototypes; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a must. On-site training will be provided to learn the latest search engine optimization tactics.
