Now that our new website is finally a reality - after many years of starts and stops ? I can finally heave a huge sigh of relief. Not only did I get what I wanted ? I got so much more than I ever dreamed possible. If you've ever launched a website, you know that it can seem to be a daunting task. For me, it was so much more than a website. I was going out publicly representing The Option Method on behalf of Bruce Di Marsico, who created it. Even though I had done a tremendous amount of work to prepare and had a very clear vision of our mission, the programs and of course, The Option Method, it was difficult to conceive how it would all translate into a website ? an actual internet-based business. Add to that the mysteries (for me) of website design and it could have been a prescription for immobility. I simply couldn't imagine it. What should the logo look like? Ok Ian gets it! What I mean is after two years of trying to get my site done and meeting with 4 other web designers I met Ian and he got me, my company and what I was looking for . I wanted simplicity, creative fresh design and excellence. The other web designers pitched there technical prowess to me and it sounded like it may work but after a few meetings I quickly was lost with my project in a sea of tired ideas and technical useless applications. I met with Ian twice and in a week he had a simple beautiful functional site for me that was very close to what I wanted. Ian designed the website for the Montclair Arts Council. The MAC is represents more than 20 arts organizations and provides information about arts program to people in Montclair and in the region. The site Ian designed for us features an online searchable events calendar. This calendar is MAC's main interface to the public. One of the key facets of the site is is a custom designed CMS which works like a dream. The staff and volunteers are able to maintain the calendar and other elements of the site without any assistance from a skilled programmer. This feature has proved to be invaluable.
