CAST Lighting is a premier manufacturer of landscape and perimeter lighting fixtures, transformers, wire and other components. They separate themselves from their competition through the durability of their products including solid cast bronze fixtures, the simplicity of their innovative designs, and their use of advanced LED technology.
The old CAST website was chock full of content but not organized in a way that made information easily accessible. Navigation appeared on both the top and side of the site, causing confusion. The site was also not optimized for viewing on mobile devices and in general, had an outdated look and feel.
CAST also wanted to feature the Perimeter lighting side of the business more prominently in order to capture a wider audience of airport, military, and government personnel as well as property managers.
Our goal was to create a clean, modern interface which with potential customers could easily navigate to the section of their choice. In addition, we wanted to hammer home the message that CAST uses the best materials to produce the finest fixtures for customers who appreciate quality.
We started with an updated layout. Where the previous homepage looked like a page out of a 1990’s print catalog, the new homepage focuses on big, beautiful images with appropriate messaging. The images and new messaging all flow with our belief that benefits should be highlighted over features in order to appeal to the consumer.
The site is fully responsive and also features links to social media in the footer (missing from the original).
Apart from the initial homepage, both Landscape Lighting and Permitter Security Lighting get their own separate homepage-like sections. This allows users to immediately segment the site by interest. Within these pages are well-organized interior pages including products, galleries, and multi-media learning tools such as articles and videos.
The impact of the site has been felt by CAST through a variety of compliments from dealers, distributors, and internal salespeople. The site is being used as both a marketing and sales tool in the field. Once the web design process wound down to a close and the site was launched, CAST came back to us at Lform to discuss ways in which we could incorporate marketing automation strategies to bolster their lead capturing efforts. We look forward to working with the team at CAST on an inbound strategy.
From our initial interview with Ian, from Lform, we felt that he understood who we were as a company and what we were looking to accomplish with our new website.
